Run your butt off!

So my new plan is running, I am going to go after the sun goes down tonight it is wayyy to hot to go before then. I am kind of excited but I know it wont be a walk in the park, I'm still worried about people judging me or making fun of me but I know I need to get over it. So I am going to lace up and get going.

As far as food goes I am having alot of trouble eating healthy because I am sooooo broke! All we have is kraft dinner and chicken hot dogs, and cookies that Morgan's mom sends home with us. I need to figure out a way to eat healthy on a budget I'm not used to being this broke! Making ends meet sucks right now, when we hear back from the navy then thing will eventually get better. The shitty thing is that it will get worse before it gets better.

Ok I will tell you all how my run goes tonight and junk. See you all tomorrow

  1. don't worry about what the folks you think are juding you are saying-they're just jealous because THEY aren't out there doing it (at least that's what I tell myself!). :O) good luck and have fun with it!

  2. I totally agree with the above poster - that's how I get myself out there to run too. I just tell myself "They should be doing what I'm doing!" and "I'm doing such a good thing for myself"... it helps a lot! :-)

  3. Exactly what the others say - Don't think about what others are saying because honestly everytime I see someone running I think, "Oooh I want to learn to run too!" I also read somewhere a quote that went something like this: "We'd worry a lot less about what people think of us if we knew how little they think of us at all." Hee hee, good luck running Grace!

  4. Eating right on a budget is ROUGH! I know! Some things that are really helpful-whole wheat tortillas are way cheaper than whole wheat bread, so I suggest wraps instead of sandwiches...or burritos. Whole grain rice is suuuper cheap and you can buy loads of it at once, cook a bunch, keep it in the fridge, and use it whenever you need a quick meal. Oatmeal is also super cheap. Those are my go-to poor foods, so maybe it'll help! Good luck.

Good luck with the jogging! I worry a tiny bit about people judging (i'm more worried that right as they're passing me is when I'll have to take a break) and I'm terrible at jogging...I can hardly jog a city block. BUT, I've started doing intervals....so I'll walk two blocks, jog one. I like jogging the blocks in nice neighborhoods, because people aren't really in their front yards as much as they are out other places. Good luck! Glad you're lacing up!

  5. I can't wait to hear how your run goes! I'm a night runner, too. :) I agree with the previous posters about those who comment are only jealous they aren't out there exercising like you are. I stick to neighborhoods as much as possible because people tend not to say things.

  6. Pretty lady I went from jogging 2 mins on the treadmill feeling like I would pass out to jogging 15 mins on the treadmill! Don't worry about what other people think of you, they don't know you and there opinions don't matter. Your doing this to better yourself and that's all that matters :D

  7. I've yet to jog outside because of what people might think but it's something I need to get over. Seeing other people think the same yet do it anyway is really inspiring. Good luck!

  8. Jogging outside is great for you and don't worry about what people my say or think. No matter how you look someone is always going to have something to say! How was the run? I know living in S. Florida you either run early morning are just wait til evenings because the heat will kill you.

  9. Running outside is definitely my favorite work out right now! (although my "run" is more of a walk/jog). Don't worry about what other people think, I run along the river in the evenings after work & too often compare myself to the tiny 105 lb perfect girls in sports bras...Point is you're taking care of yourself in one of the most basic ways, you'll feel so good after :) I was going to skip my run later since I'm hungover but after reading this I am going now! Thanks for motivating me :)

As for cheap healthy food I tend to rely on bananas, tofu, frozen veggies/fruit, chickpeas, whole wheat cous cous, etc. Keep an eye out for sales for more expensive things like greek yogurt & lean meat, or buy in bulk & freeze.
